NARELLE PENDLEBURY

Narelle Pendlebury is an established West Australian artist with a background in Fine Arts and Art Education. Her uniquemixed media artworks are created through a process that layers and fuses the traditional disciplines of drawing, painting, printmaking and textiles.  An integral part of the work is the concept and activity of layering. Vibrant, transparent colours are layered over detailed areas of printed and stitched pattern resulting in highly worked, jewel-like images with a subtle interplay of surface, material and texture.

Pendlebury’s images explore the themes of land, sea and sky, and the movement from one stratum to the next; the fluidic nature of dream-states and the subconscious; and the decorative and symbolic elements of the human form.

Narelle has held several solo exhibitions and her work is celebrated in many corporate and private collections throughout Australia and overseas.
