COLIN MADGWICK ARTIST
Colin was born on the 8th January 1965, Sydney NSW.
Formative Influences – Studies in Landscape Architecture, appreciation of processes involved in natural and cultural environments, components of landscape and landscape design. Realism, impressionism, post-impressionism & pointillism.
Philosophy – To evoke mood/ambience through the capture of light. To calm the viewer and to document our environments of leisure.
Technique – "Clean" palette, application of strokes and/or "blobs" achieves rapid tonal shifts and parcels light in units of colour for clarity. Method of application important (texture), but must not overpower the subject. The composition is very important, specifically; harmony & balance of form & light verses shade.
