 Frances Andrijich

Frances Andrijich has a style and tenacity which has earned her widespread acclaim as Perth’s finest and Western Australia’s most inspiring photographer.

Born in Croatia, Frances moved to Western Australia when she was four years old. Primary school was in Carnarvon, but the Andrijich family decided to move south again – this time only a couple hundred miles to Western Australia’s capital city, Perth where they settled permanently.

Frances claims to have stumbled into photography by chance at the age of eighteen – while avoiding being photographed by a friend.

She went on to study photography at teachers training college and perfected her artform while inspiring the young students.

Her career took off in the 1990’s. Attention to detail, long hours and uncompromising work ethics cemented her professional and public reputation.

Frances Andrijich photographs featured in Time Magazine, The Weekend Australian Magazine, The Age newspaper’s Good Weekend Magazine, Australian Financial Review Magazine, W Magazine, Gourmet Traveller, Australian Geographic, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and Scoop.

An authentic Western Australian feel is ever present in her images. Photos absorb the tiniest detail and capture a true sense of place.

Her portfolio is eclectic. People. Places. Landscapes. Events. Moscow. Croatia. Indonesia. South Africa. Australia.

The Dalai Lama, Tim Winton, Ernie Dingo, Bryan Brown, Melissa George, Heath Ledger, Hugh Jackman, Matt Giteau, Adam Gilchrist, Phillip Noyce, the Dowling twins, Julie and Carol, are at ease with Frances Andrijich – just look at their portraits.
